Mental Health

"There is no Health without Mental Health"

(WHO, 2013-2020)

So, what leads to Mental Health Disorders?

According to the WHO (World Health Organization), there are, of course several factors involved, including, but not only, individual attributes such as the ability to manage one's thoughts, emotions, behaviours and interactions with others; but also social, cultural, economic, political and environmental factors such as national policies, social protection, standards of living, working conditions, and community support. On the other hand, stress, genetics, nutrition, perinatal infections and exposure to environmental hazards are also contributing factors to mental disorders according to the WHO.

So, from this perspective, Mental Health, today, really means the need to have a more fulfilling and meaningful life, the need to really listen and pay attention to our inner voices... However, in reality, how many of us really know what that means?! So, to face this New Plague of MHD (Mental Health Disorders), humanity really has to learn new "survival skills", never requested before in the millions of years of our evolution.
